Nanosolar Powersheets on Sale

18 December 2007 2 Comments

Nanosolar Powersheet

One month ago we’ve been talking about the revolutionary nanosolar powersheets, the ultra-portable and very cheap solar panels that can be printed on everything, especially building roofs. Now the nanosolar powersheets are finally on sale, but not for the price of 30cents-a-watt they should be when going on mass production. We have to wait a bit until then, because they have to prove useful and I’m sure they will, but also they have to produce them cheaper.

The company currently has a 200,000 square-foot factory, that develops a new way to print the nanosolar powersheets to reduce their production price with more than 80%. Until now, everything goes just right, because they have orders for the first 18 months of production capacity.

If someone was to propose a simple and efficient way to connect small sheets of this material, I can see it being used to coat shingles.

Most important thing is the price, when it drops, people will buy.
