Microsoft’s latest version of its dominant Internet Explorer web browser could threaten the rise of online targeted-advertising because it allows users to access websites in private, reports James Quinn.

Canon has introduced its newest digital camera line called the PowerShot E-Series.
For starters, the PowerShot E-Series is getting the trendy PowerShot E1 digital camera. To be released in 3 eye-catching colors white, blue or pink.

Nokia has announced that its N96 smartphone will be available in America in Q4 2008. The American version of the phone will operate on 3G HSDPA networks and feature a 2.8-inch screen, 16GB of internal memory and compatibility with multiple video formats.

Acer Aspire One Netbook $329 - $399

The already inexpensive Acer Aspire One was one of our favorite Netbook-style laptops in our recent roundup (”Building the perfect Netbook”). It had a great design, a 9-inch screen, and Intel’s Atom CPU, but we were less impressed with the paltry 512MB of RAM and middling battery life. But if you skipped Windows XP for the Linux version, you could get one for $379, making it a fairly good bargain, overall.

Acer seems to have heard our complaints, and while the company is not actually changing any of the hardware, it is dropping the prices on the different configurations in the line, making it an even better deal. It probably doesn’t hurt that there’s been a marked increase in competition in this relatively small category lately, and that’s even before Dell and Lenovo get into the game.

The Inspiron 910, Dell’s entry into the netbook market, generates a lot of interest and the anticipation for the release is mounting. I guess Dell will go official with the Inspiron 910 next week.
